How to Apply

Persons applying for admission to the Intensive English Program or the Communication Skills Program must have graduated from secondary school.  All prospective students must submit a completed application along with a $100 deposit.  The balance of the tuition must be paid no later than the first day of class.

Once you have chosen a program of interest - Intensive English or Communication Skills - you can request more information through the "Request Info" button on the brochure page, chat with an ESL or ISSS advisor through the chat feature on the homepage, or click the "Apply Now" button on the desired program page.  After you click to apply, you will be asked a few identification questions in order to receive login credentials.  These login credentials provide access to the ISSS Office's site at any time from anywhere.  You will have the ability to update your personal information, apply for work or scholarships, and check for administrative emails any time you have Internet access.  When you apply for a program, the application page features all the information you need to know and all the information the university needs to know in order for you to be accepted into the desired ESL program.

Application Instructions

You must complete all requirements listed on the application page.  Once you have completed all the requirements, your application will be reviewed.  After review, administrators will change your application status and you will receive a notification email to inform you of this change.  At that time, you can log into the site and view your decision letter.  If you are accepted, you will then see additional requirements that you need to complete before the program begins.  Once you are accepted, you will receive materials that contain important information about obtaining a valid student visa.  A valid student visa is required of all prospective ESL students in order to complete studies in the US.

If you need an I-20 form, please submit your application and documentation at least 8-10 weeks prior to the beginning of the program.  If you do not need an I-20 form, it is best if your application and documentation are received at least two weeks prior to the beginning of the program.  In general, however, applications are accepted at any time.

Admission

Admission to the ESL program and successful completion of the program do not constitute admission to any academic program at TDU.  A separate application must be submitted to apply to other academic programs at Terra Dotta University after completion of the Intensive English Program or Communication Skills Program.  Students will receive academic credit for courses taken in the Intensive English Program, but courses taken in the Communication Skills Program will not award academic credit.
